Ben and Kiki Engagements!
Had a blast photographing this adorable couple the other weekend! (: Wish we could have worked it out to go at a different time of day for better lighting, but we worked with what we had (:

Not Just Points On A Map
Artist's Statement: Places aren't just places for me. Almost anywhere I've been has taught me something new... something that has shaped me to be the person that I am today. And that makes them more than just points on a map.
Airport: Family Bond ~ They say you don't know what you have until it's gone... and when they return home, seeing them again at the airport is one of the most exciting things there is!
Daybreak/Daybreak Lake: Love of Music ~ With the live music in the park every weekend, my love of all types of music grew! Afterwards my best friends and I would grab our guitars, sit on the docks, and jam together.
Europe: Love for my Religion ~ Being away from the life I was used to for such an extended period of time really made me realize how much I missed it. I saw what people's lives were like who didn't have the gospel, and realized how lucky I am and how much it means to me.
Kitchen Table: Love of Art ~ This is where my Dad first sat me down and taught me how to draw. It was our bonding time and has shaped my future completely.
Yellowfork Canyon: Competition ~ From a young age, my brothers and my Dad would take me mountain biking with them up this canyon. I never wanted to fall behind or make them slow down for me... and so I developed a sort of reckless abandon and charged forward... bumps, bruises, and cuts were worth it.
Old Mill (Dracula's Castle): Imagination ~ Here I was taught to see the world in a whole new light. I was taught to create something more interesting out of the things around me. It was an adventure unlike any other.
Mouth of Spanish Fork Canyon: Photography and Road Trips ~ Erica and I were always off on another road trip to take pictures, and somehow, each of them started out here.
Emmeline Park: Friendship ~ The meeting spot for me and my 3 best friends. I didn't know what it was like to have real best friends until they came along, and now that they're gone, I know how truly lucky I was.
Silver Lake: Love of Outdoors and Nature ~ The first hikes I remember as a kid were around this little lake. I remember seeing moose, ducks, and all sorts of animals and being amazed at everything around me.
Salt Lake Temple/The Roof Restaurant: What Love Feels Like ~ I'd been there quite a few times with other people, which is why, when everything felt so different when I went with him, it felt like I was there for the first time.

Pan-o-rama!!!
A bridge, and I'm on it walking... you have no idea how hard this was to get with only a 10 second timer.

Black and White portraits
My dad right after I told him that the whole in the wall in the basement... was my fault (:
Chick across the hall, I told her to smile, she said, "but this is weird."
This was just a cool looking place! And she was finally relaxed enough around me to go do this and goof around a bit!

Color Portraits!
My roommate's Grandpa: Playing with his grandkids with a GIANT grin!
My little sister: This is just a perfect depiction of Jenny. (:
What did I learn from this? I learned that you can pose people all you want, but more often than not, my favorite pictures came in moments where they were just laughing, being themselves, and not worrying about how they looked. I feel like it captures who they are as a person more fully.

I have a thing for color... (:
Monochromatic:
Analogous:
Complimentary:
So for these pictures I mostly just found things that were around my house, but the pumpkin was something my niece was dressing up and talking to like a person, and in complimentary color scheme! Moral of the story? I need to get my niece a doll.
